Estate Administration
We have the requisite experience to assist our clients who act as executors or trustees. The legal responsibilities imposed by law on an executor or trustee can be onerous and difficult to understand, and executors and trustees can be personally liable should they fail to comprehend and carry out these duties.
Our estate administration services include:
- Obtaining testamentary grants, such as Grants of Probate, Grants of Administration, Resealed Grants, Ancillary Grants, and other similar Court Orders
- Advising executors, trustees, and beneficiaries
- Assisting executors and trustees with applications to pass accounts in an estate
- Assisting executors and trustees with contentious issues that may arise during the administration of an estate or trust
Guardianship & Trusteeship Matters
The Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act (Alberta) allows a person to apply to the Court to be granted legal authority to make decisions on behalf of an elderly or disabled parent, partner or friend, when they are no longer capable of making financial and/or personal and health care decisions for themselves. The person who is the subject of this type of special type of Court application is referred to as a represented adult.

- Guardianship and/or Trusteeship Orders
- Assisting Trustees with the requirement to pass accounts
- Assisting Guardians and/or Trustees with the review of Court Orders
